Heavy Rains and Thunderstorms to Lash Uttar Pradesh and Northwest India This Week
While the monsoon has officially withdrawn from the country, significant rainfall continues across various parts of India due to new weather systems. A fresh Western Disturbance is approaching North India, which is expected to bring widespread rain, thunderstorms, and lightning to Uttar Pradesh and several other states over the next three days.
The India Meteorological Department has also issued warnings for hailstorms in parts of UP, Delhi, and surrounding regions. Additionally, North Bihar is likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall.

Northwest India (UP, Delhi, etc.): Isolated heavy rains are expected in East Uttar Pradesh today, October 4th. From October 5th to 7th, a period of widespread rain with thunderstorms and lightning is forecast for the entire northwest region, including UP, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan. Hailstorms are likely on October 6th in places like Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Western UP.

East India: Northern Bihar is on alert for extremely heavy rainfall on October 4th, with heavy rains continuing through the 6th. Heavy showers are also expected in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. Jharkhand will see increased rainfall activity on the 4th and 5th.

Northeast India: States like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, and Mizoram are forecast to receive heavy rainfall between October 4th-5th and again from the 7th-10th.

South India: Isolated heavy rainfall is predicted for Tamil Nadu (Oct 4-5), Coastal Andhra Pradesh (Oct 4), and Kerala (Oct 5-6). Karnataka and Telangana may experience thunderstorms with strong gusty winds from October 4th through the 8th.
