Trump Urges Swift Action in Israel-Gaza Talks, Warns of ‘Massive Bloodshed’
Former US President Donald Trump issued a public call for urgency in ongoing peace negotiations between Israel and Hamas, warning that failure to act quickly could result in “massive bloodshed.”
In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that “very positive discussions” have taken place over the weekend involving Hamas and countries from around the world. The talks are aimed at releasing hostages, ending the war in Gaza, and achieving a broader peace in the region.
Trump revealed that technical teams are scheduled to meet in Egypt on Monday to finalize details. He emphasized that the first phase of the plan “should be completed this week,” adding, “I am asking everyone to MOVE FAST… TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE OR, MASSIVE BLOODSHED WILL FOLLOW.”
The former president had previously set a Sunday deadline for Hamas to accept the peace plan, cautioning that if a “LAST CHANCE agreement” was not reached, severe consequences would follow for the group. He thanked Israel for temporarily halting military operations to allow the deal a chance but insisted that Hamas “must move quickly, or else all bets will be off.”
The reported peace initiative, unveiled in late September, outlines an immediate ceasefire, the release of hostages, the disarmament of Hamas, and the reconstruction of Gaza under a new Palestinian governing body supervised by a US-led international coalition. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly agreed to the framework.
Hamas, however, said discussions over Gaza’s future governance and Palestinian rights are still ongoing. Trump has vowed to continue monitoring the situation closely, stressing the critical need for rapid action to prevent further escalation.
