Abrar Ahmed’s rapid rise in international cricket continues as the talented spinner is named in Pakistan’s squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa. The series, set to begin in Lahore on October 12, will be a crucial home assignment for the team.
Since his debut in 2022, Abrar has become a mainstay across all formats. In just 10 Tests, 11 ODIs, and 23 T20Is, he has already claimed an impressive 93 wickets for his country. His red-ball prowess is highlighted by two five-wicket hauls in Test matches.
His growing importance to the side was further demonstrated recently when he was part of the Pakistan squad that reached the final of the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025.
