Bahia Estabelece Recorde de Público Pagante em Vitória sobre o Flamengo

Bahia Breaks Season Attendance Record in Thrilling Victory Over Flamengo

Sunday night (5) was historic at the Arena Fonte Nova. Not only did Bahia end a long winless streak against Flamengo, but the club also registered its largest paying crowd of the 2025 season. A massive 48,222 fans were in the stands to witness the 1-0 triumph over the Rio club during the 27th round of the Brazilian Championship.

This new record surpasses the previous mark set during the 5-0 rout of Confiança in the Copa do Nordeste final, which had 48,124 paying spectators. The total attendance for the Flamengo match (48,634) was slightly below the number recorded in the Nordestão final (48,637).

The overwhelming force of the Tricolor fans in the stands reinforced the Fonte Nova’s role as one of the most vibrant stadiums in the country. Officially, the duel with Flamengo now ranks as the second-largest paying crowd for a club match at the Arena, trailing only behind the Bahia vs. Guarani match in the 2022 Série B, which had 48,464 paying attendees.

For matches involving national teams, the overall record is still held by Belgium vs. USA from the 2014 World Cup, which welcomed 51,227 fans thanks to a temporary mobile stand installed by FIFA for the tournament.
