New System to Automatically Alert Users Before Sending Money to Risky UPI IDs or Numbers
A new security system will now automatically classify any UPI ID, phone number, or payment link involved in suspicious activities as ‘Low’, ‘Medium’, or ‘High’ risk. When a user attempts to make a transaction to one of these flagged identities, an automatic alert will immediately pop up on their mobile screen during the payment process.
The government has clarified that this new safety feature will work seamlessly in the background. Users will not need to download any separate app, as the system will be integrated directly with existing payment apps and banking platforms to provide real-time protection.
